New cucumber strain bred
KCNA
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Institute of Vegetables in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has bred a new cucumber strain with native ones. It is highly resistant to diseases.
According to researcher Kim Kyu Il, old strains retrograde after two or three years of cultivation on the same plot, but the new one is not restricted by years of cultivation.
It is easy to cultivate in greenhouses because it needs neither self-fertilization nor artificial fertilization.
The well-shaped cucumber is tasty.
