Inter-Korean contact made

Kaesong, June 9 (KCNA) -- The 5th working-level contact for the reconnection of the north-south rail and road links was made in Kaesong from June 7 to 9.
At the contact both sides had an exhaustive discussion on practical issues of energetically pushing forward the project of reconnecting the inter-Korean rail and road links to complete it at an early date in the basic spirit of the historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and adopted the following agreement:
The north and the south shall simultaneously hold joint ceremonies of reconnecting the inter-Korean rail links on June 14, Juche 92 (2003) at the places on the east and west coasts where the inter-Korean railways meet.
The north and the south shall positively cooperate with each other so that necessary sets of equipment, items of materials and their quantity may be delivered without causing any delay to the project in order to step up the project for reconnecting rail and road links on the east and west coasts.
The south side shall provide technical service for the installing of equipment and the normal operation of vehicles according to an agreement on the provision of equipment and materials for the project of reconnecting the rail and road links between mid-June and late July and the north side shall actively cooperate with it.
The delivery of equipment and materials for the project and visits of technical personnel shall be made through temporary roads on the east and west coasts.
The north and the south shall conduct on-spot survey for the designing of signal, telecommunication and power systems at the time the two sides agree upon in mid-July.
The third panel meeting for reconnecting inter-Korean rail and road links shall be held in Munsan from July 2 to 4.
And 3 supplementary agreements on the project for reconnecting inter-Korean rail and road links including an agreement on ceremonies of reconnecting inter-Korean rail links and an agreement on technical service for equipment and vehicles for reconnecting inter-Korean rail and road links were adopted at the working-level contact.
