U.S. demand for increased "defense budget" denounced in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, June 9 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration on June 3 reportedly issued a statement titled "the U.S. unreasonable demand for increased defense budget is a plain interference in other's internal affairs". Referring to the fact that the deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Defense on a trip to South Korea forced the members of the "National Defense Committee of the National Assembly" on June 2 to increase "defense budget," the statement said:
    It is the impudent nature of the U.S. imperialists to demand ten concessions if one time is allowed. Anti-U.S. struggle is the only way for us to live.
    All the Koreans should turn out in the patriotic resistance against the U.S. and war and for peace in order to achieve independence and dignity of the nation and peace in this land.
    All the patriotic forces who love the country and the nation should rise up to wage the all-people resistance for independence against the U.S. on June 13 when two schoolgirls were killed by GIs.
    The solidarity bitterly denounces the U.S. unreasonable interference in the internal affairs and calls for resolute counteraction of the government authorities.
    We will not lay down the banner of the anti-U.S. struggle before the U.S. domination and interference are completely terminated.
