U.S. arms buildup plan under fire
KCNA
Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- The Reunification Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration and Peace on the Korean Peninsula reportedly issued a statement on June 2 denouncing the U.S. forces' "arms buildup plan".
The statement accused the U.S. forces and the South Korean military authorities of asserting on May 31 that the "arms buildup plan" is based on the "Operation Plan-5027 Contingency Plan" and its aim is to pose a military threat to stifle the DPRK and, furthermore, start a war against it. This clearly revealed the fact that the U.S., paying lip-service to "dialogue" and "peaceful solution," is, in fact, opting for a military threat and pressure, the statement noted.
Branding the U.S. ceaseless arms buildup and military threat to the north as a grave provocation, the statement demanded an immediate halt to its reckless "arms buildup".
