Irresponsible remarks of Japanese heavyweight blasted
KCNA
Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) -- Taro Aso, chairman of the Policy Research Council of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan in a recent lecture given in Tokyo claimed that the policy pursued by the Japanese imperialists in the past to force the Koreans to change their names into Japanese ones was enforced at their request.
Papers here Friday dismissed his remarks as a gross distortion of the historical fact and an unpardonable challenge to the Korean nation as it infringes upon and gravely debases its dignity.
Rodong Sinmun in a signed commentary says:
The Japanese imperialists enforced that policy as part of their policy to "make Koreans imperial subjects." So, his claim that the policy was enforced at the request of Koreans is a gross distortion and denial of the history and a revelation of Japan's intention to repeat its past aggression as it reveals the brazen-facedness and moral vulgarity peculiar to Japan.
Aso's outbursts clearly indicate what a serious phase the Japanese reactionaries' militaristic view on history and way of thinking have reached and how strong and persistent their hostility towards the DPRK has grown, the commentary observes, adding that the Japanese conservative politicians' distortion and misinterpretation of the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past only bring into bolder relief their blemished conscience and militaristic nature because they are intended to flee away from the liquidation of their past at any cost.
Minju Joson warns that such politicians as Aso had better be careful about their words and deeds, mindful that they will have to pay a very high price for their reckless remarks.
