  • U.S. espionage flights on steady increase KCNA 03 Mar 2003 -- The U.S. imperialists committed over 180 cases of aerial espionage against the DPRK in February by mobilizing strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes on different missions, according to military sources. A U.S. RC-135 strategic reconnaissance plane illegally intruded into the air above the territorial waters in the east sea of the DPRK between Musudan and Hodo peninsula almost everyday from Feb. 21 and made shuttle-flights in the air for hours to spy on major targets in its east coastal area.
  • US / NORTH KOREA WRAP VOA 03 Mar 2003 -- The U-S State Department said Monday any moves by North Korea to reprocess spent nuclear fuel or to test a nuclear device would have serious international consequences for Pyongyang. The remarks came as Pentagon officials reported what they called a "hostile" incident involving a U-S reconnaissance plane and North Korean fighter jets Sunday over the sea of Japan.

  • Meeting of Asian Regional Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification held KCNA 03 Mar 2003 -- A meeting of leading officials of the Asian Regional Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification took place in Colombo on Feb. 16. Present on invitation at the meeting was a delegation of the Korean Committee for Solidarity with the World People headed by Kim Jin Bom, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.

  • Annual meeting held KCNA 03 Mar 2003 -- The DPRK Measure Committee for Demanding Compensation to "Comfort Women" for the Japanese Army and the Victims of the Forcible Drafting held its annual meeting here Saturday. At the meeting, chairwoman of the committee Hong Son Ok made a report, which was followed by speeches.

Korea joint war exercises KCNA 03 Mar 2003 -- The U.S.-South Korea combined command officially declared that it would stage Rsoi exercise from March 19 to 26 and Foal Eagle joint military exercise from March 4 to April 2. These exercises are said to involve the U.S. Forces present in South Korea, 5,000-strong U.S. reinforcements and South Korean troops, more than 200,000 in all, a carrier and other military hardware.

  • March 1 Popular Uprising marked KCNA 03 Mar 2003 -- Papers today editorially call on the whole nation to rise up as one in the struggle to foil the U.S. imperialists' nuclear racket against the DPRK and moves for a new war in the spirit of the March 1 Movement and the traditional patriotism of the Korean nation and with ardent desire for independence. The March 1 Popular Uprising against the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule in Juche 8 (1919) demonstrated the strong will and indomitable spirit of the Korean nation who regards independence as their life and soul and dealt a mortal blow at the Japanese imperialists.
  • North side's delegation leaves for Seoul KCNA 03 Mar 2003 -- The north side's delegation left here today to participate in the March 1 National Meeting for Peace and Reunification to be held in Seoul. The delegation led by Jang Jae On, chairman of the Korean Council of Religionists, consists of leading officials of religious organizations, believers, officials of public organizations and representatives of people of all social standings in the north.
