Present there were Kye Ung Thae, Secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Kwak Pom Gi, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet, Kang Nung Su, Minister of Culture, and Choe Chil Nam, editor-in-chief of Rodong Sinmun, Thae Hyong Chol, president of the Academy of Social Sciences, and other officials concerned.

- North Korea Submits Application to Join Berne Convention Korea-net 14 Feb 2003 -- The Ministry of Culture and Tourism reported on Thursday (Feb. 13) that North Korea submitted the application to the World Intellectual Property Organization on January 28 to join the Berne Convention.
- KOREAS WRAP VOA 14 Feb 2003 -- The heavily-fortified border between North and South Korea was opened to ordinary tourists Friday for the first time in half a century. It was one small positive sign amid continuing tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
