North Korean national defense committee chairman Kim Jong Il, accompanied by party, government and the military high-ranking executives:

Visited Daeheungdan-gun general farm at Yanggang-do on Nov. 26 and Samjiyun-gun potato general farm on Nov. 27, urging the rationalization of potato-growing farms to increase the yield and the advanced implementation of seed storage, repair and maintenance of farming machines and tools, and manure preparation.
Paid an inspection visit on Nov. 30 to Kumjinkang power station, Eonjae construction site, and a raw material base farm at Hamheung city.

In overseas activities:

The Kim Jong Il regime nvited Namibian president Sam Nujoma to North Korea (Nov.28-30) and discussed the promotion of North-Namibia diplomatic relations.
Central press criticized a media release of Kim Jong Il's live voice recorded by Moonyae-Choonchu (Dec. issue) in Japan as "a maneuver affecting the dignity of our supreme governing body and at the same time [fostering a] sense of hostility toward the North among the Japanese nation."

In North-South issues:

The first North-South military affairs working-level talks were held (Nov. 28) at Tongil Kak, located in the North Korean region north of Panmoon-Jum, to discuss issues of restoring the Kyungeui railroad and road improvement.
The second North-South dispersed families exchange visit was carried out (Nov. 30 - Dec. 2).
