Kim Jong-il visited KPA Unit 755 with Chief of the KPA politburo Cho Myung-rok and inspected the unit's frontline command post in addition to attending a performance by a Military Performance Team, then proceeding with member of the Defense Committee Yon Hyung-mook and Party Secretary Kim Ki-nam to a fish farm built by KPA Unit 583 on Dec. 5th to provide `guidance' for the troops.

A joint delegation of Japanese politicians visited Pyongyang from Dec. 1st to 3rd to discuss resurrecting talks for normalization of relations between North Korea and Japan, and agreed to urge the respective governments to reopen negotiations at the earliest possible date.

A spokesperson for North Korea's foreign ministry called the `the strengthening of the security stance toward North Korea' discussed at the recently-concluded ROK-US security conference on Nov. 23rd a `conspiracy for a first strike against North Korea'. In addition, North Korea's League of Industries called on the ROK's Confederation of Korean Trade Unions to `serve as the vanguard for the abolition of the National Security Law for the Year'.

America's 'first brother' Roger Clinton traveled to Pyongyang with a team of South Korean artists to host the Concert for Peace and Friendship 2000, held at the Ponghwa Arts theater.
