Ranking members of the North Korean Worker's Party, government, and the armed forces gathered for a "Grand Remembrance Conference" convened by Kim Jong-il to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the death of Kim Il-sung, followed by a successive assembly for the "Grand Report Convention" on the 105th anniversary of his grandfather, Kim Hyung-jik, to highlight the "greatness" of the Kim family and call for "continuing loyalty."

The discussion concerning South Korea's development of long-range missiles during the ROK-US summit was misrepresented by North Korean propaganda as "American attempts to instigate the South into war with the North, and use them as vanguards of aggression for the conquest of Asia."

The Korean Musicians League of North Korea accused South Korea of "distorting and plagiarizing approximately 1000 songs created by Northern composers and singers" and demanded apologies and commensurate compensation.
