In the context of ongoing constructive dialogue and collaboration between the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the People's Republic of China, a high-level delegation comprising representatives from 21 OIC Member States, along with officials from the General Secretariat, undertook a visit to China from October 19 to 23, 2025, at the invitation of the Chinese authorities.

The delegation comprised ambassadors and permanent representatives from the OIC Member States and was led by Mr. Yousef AlDobeay, the Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs. It also included representatives from the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission.

The delegation commenced its itinerary with site visits to Urumqi in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, during which they met with senior regional government officials.

Subsequently, in Shanghai, the delegation met with high-ranking officials from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both parties underscored the robust nature of the bilateral and multilateral relations between the Islamic world and China, particularly emphasising their collaborative efforts under the auspices of the OIC.
