
China firmly opposes US 'long-arm jurisdiction': FM on latest US sanctions on Yemen's Houthis targeting Chinese firms

In response to a question about the US imposing a new round of sanctions on Yemen's Houthi group, and the US Treasury Department's claim that the sanctions target several Chinese companies accused of helping transport military equipment and parts, and other firms accused of arranging shipments of dual-use goods to the Houthis, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Friday that China firmly opposes the US' abuse of unilateral sanctions and the "long-arm jurisdiction," stressing that such practices violate international law and norms governing international relations.
