In response to remarks made by Britain's trade minister Peter Kyle concerning the new premises of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Thursday that "I understand that the remarks by Britain's business secretary you mentioned refer to issues related to diplomatic premises. China has already stated its position on this matter on multiple occasions. Providing support and facilitation for the construction of diplomatic premises is an international obligation of the host country. Both China and the UK have needs for building new premises, and the two sides should support each other."
