In response to a media inquiry from ChinaArabTV on how China believes the international community can better work together to prevent history from repeating itself and to safeguard the hard-won peace in the current international situation, as China' s V-Day parade successfully showcased to the world China' s determination to uphold the post-war international order and peace, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated on Thursday that September 3 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. It is also a day of celebration for the Chinese people and all peace-loving nations and peoples around the world.

Guo added that this victory was achieved by the Chinese people fighting alongside the Allied forces and peoples of other countries. The Chinese government and people will never forget the foreign governments and international friends who supported and assisted China in resisting aggression.

For the commemorative event, more than 50 friends or representatives of their families from 14 countries, including Russia, the US, the UK, France, and Canada were invited. The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries also awarded the 80th anniversary commemorative medal to 55 international friends, according to the spokesperson.

Today, humanity once again faces choices between peace or war, dialogue or confrontation, and win-win cooperation or a zero-sum game. The commemorative event once again demonstrates that China will firmly stand on the side of historical justice and the progress of human civilization, consistently adhering to the path of peaceful development. "We sincerely hope that all countries will learn from history, cherish peace, and work together to create a better future for humanity," said Guo.
