A grand ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held on Wednesday morning in Beijing. The massive military parade featured a remarkable array of new combat equipment, including advanced main battle tanks, hypersonic anti-ship missiles, new strategic missile, and fifth-generation fighter jets, which excited the Chinese people and amazed the world.

Representatives from China's military-industrial groups, who developed these national treasures, were invited to witness the event live as the equipment passed through Tian'anmen Square. After the commemorative ceremony, some of the invited representatives shared their excitement and insights with the Global Times.

"The grand military parade fully demonstrates the Chinese people's aspiration to remember history and safeguard peace. The air formation composed of 125 military aircraft of 29 types independently developed by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) underwent inspection by the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the people. Among them, multiple types of superior equipment made their public debut for the first time," said Cheng Fubo, Chairman of AVIC, after observing the parade on-site.

The parade is a comprehensive showcase of China's achievements in aviation industry development and fully demonstrates the powerful strength of domestically produced aviation weaponry in safeguarding national security and maintaining world peace, Cheng said.

"As an aviation professional, I feel immensely honored and proud to have had the opportunity to watch this grand parade on-site," Cheng said. "On this new journey in the new era, 400,000 aviation professionals will vigorously carry forward the spirit of serving the country through aviation, accelerate the creation of a national strategic force in aviation science and technology, speed up the construction of a powerful aviation nation in the new era, resolutely support the realization of the goal of building a strong military by the centenary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army as scheduled, and make new and greater contributions to safeguarding national security and maintaining world peace."

"Today, as I watched these national defensive treasures lined up neatly and undergoing inspection on-site, a strong sense of mission and responsibility welled up in my heart," Xu Pengfei, Deputy Chief Engineer of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), told the Global Times. Xu said that that these great national assets are not only symbols of the country's hard power, but also solid guarantee for safeguarding the peaceful lives of the people.

"History tells us that a country must not only have backbone but also possess strong strength so that no enemy will dare invade us. As a nuclear industry practitioner in the new era, I deeply feel the heavy responsibility on my shoulders and the glorious mission," Xu said. "We must bravely shoulder the mission of building a technology powerhouse, consolidate the cornerstone of national security, strengthen the nuclear industry and the country, and contribute hardcore strength to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation."

"The thunderous roar of advanced and modern weaponry moving in formation, like the unstoppable advance of the wheels of history, fully demonstrates the strength of China's national defense forces and its determination to safeguard national sovereignty and defend world peace," Xu Liping, from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), told the Global Times.

"I was extremely excited and also felt supreme honored. I had never watched a parade in person before. When I watched it on TV in the past, I would leave the room when the weaponry we participated in appeared because I was so excited that I would cry, but I didn't want others to see. So, I never really had a good look," Ye Hui, a Beijing moral model and a special-grade technician at the Second Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC), told the Global Times, when he was asked about his feelings after observing the parade.

Ye said that on Wednesday, when he saw the great national assets, which embodied the wisdom and efforts of him and his colleagues, passing through Tiananmen Square and undergoing inspection by the motherland and the people, as an aerospace professional who had experienced the research and development process firsthand, his heart seemed to be beating in sync with the engines, and the sense of pride and accomplishment were beyond words.

Ye said he believes that the enhancement of China's strength means that the country's ability to maintain peace and stability is stronger, which is a huge contribution to world peace.

"Today, I am fortunate to stand in Tiananmen Square and witness the grand military parade. My feelings are beyond words," Ma Xiaoguang, chief technician of China North Industries Group Corporation, told the Global Times after observing the parade.

Ma said that the equipment participating in this parade demonstrated the tremendous progress of the Chinese military toward informatization and intelligence and showcased its powerful ability to win modern wars. "I feel immensely honored to witness the national defense equipment I participated in developing undergoing inspection by the Party and the people in Tiananmen Square. I am extremely proud of the strength of our motherland," Ma said.

As an arms industry worker, Ma said he is well aware of the technological breakthroughs and hard work behind this equipment, which is the crystallization of the efforts of several generations of arms industry workers.

"When the flag-guarding formation of Z-10 helicopters flew over Tiananmen Square, as the chief designer of the 'Yulong' engine, the 'heart' of the Z-10, my heart was filled with indescribable excitement. Later, the neat and powerful marching formations, the majestic and well-equipped mechanized formations, and especially the air formations soaring through the clouds and shaking the sky powered by our domestically produced engines, all these scenes stirred my blood and filled me with immense pride," Yin Zeyong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former director of the Science and Technology Committee of Aero Engine Corporation of China, told the Global Times after watching the parade on-site.

Yin said the parade was not only an inspection of the mighty and invincible strength of the Chinese people's military, but also an affirmation of the silent hard work and perseverance of all military-industrial workers over the years.

Each row of advanced weaponry is a symbol of China's combat effectiveness and the crystallization of the efforts of military-industrial workers. It embodies countless days and nights of hard work and struggle and carries the responsibility and commitment of military-industrial workers to the country and the people.

"The parade makes me more deeply recognize the importance of strengthening the military through science and technology. Faced with the complex and ever-changing international situation, a strong national defense force is a solid guarantee for China peace, stability and steady development," Yin said.
