To implement the consensus reached at recent high-level China-US economic and trade talks, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced on Tuesday that starting August 12, 2025, China will extend for 90 days the suspension of measures under the Unreliable Entity List Working Mechanism issued on April 4, and suspend the measures issued on April 9.

Under the relevant regulations, domestic enterprises may apply to conduct transactions with the listed entities. Applications will be reviewed in accordance with the law, and qualified cases will be approved.

Earlier, on April 4 and 9, 2025, China placed 17 US entities on the Unreliable Entity List, barring them from import and export activities related to China and from making new investments in the country.

In detail, on April 4, MOFCOM announced to put 11 US companies on the Unreliable Entity List, and put 6 US companies on the Unreliable Entity List on April 9.

Starting on May 14, MOFCOM announced that it has temporarily suspended Unreliable Entity List measures against 17 US entities starting for 90 days, following the joint statement issued after the China-US economic and trade talks in Geneva.
