In response to an inquiry regarding the recent launch of Resolute Force Pacific 2025 by the US Air Force in the Western Pacific, which has been described as an "unprecedented surge into the Pacific theater" and real-world test of concepts like Agile Combat Employment, signaling a substantive reinforcement of US' "Indo-Pacific strategy," Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang, also a spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, stated on Wednesday that the Pacific Ocean should be a sea of peace, not a stage for stirring up trouble.

Clinging to a Cold War mentality, the US continues to flaunt military might in the Asia-Pacific, using exercises as a pretext to form cliques, intimidate and pressure other countries, thereby undermine regional peace and stability, said Zhang.

"Come wind or waves, we remain steady at the fishing platform," Zhang said, adding that the Chinese military has confidence and capability to respond to all risks and challenges, firmly safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests, and remaining a staunch force for maintaining peace both regionally and globally.
