Responding to a question seeking further details after a Chinese official said in Stockholm on Tuesday that China and the US will continue pushing for the continued extension of the pause on 24 percent of reciprocal tariffs of the US side, as well as counter measures of the Chinese side following a new round of trade talks, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday, "We hope the US side will work with China to make full use of the role of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism in accordance with the important consensus reached by the two heads of state during their phone call."
We hope that the US will work with China to continue to enhance consensus, reduce misunderstandings, strengthen cooperation through dialogue and communication on the basis of mutual respect and reciprocity, and strive for more win-win outcomes so as to jointly promote the healthy, stable and sustainable development of China-US relations, Guo said.
