When asked whether China can confirm the specific date of the reported China-US trade talks and whether it is willing to discuss the issue of purchasing oil from Russia and Iran with the US side as US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that a third round of trade talks with China is now scheduled and will commence next week in Stockholm, Sweden, and other issues that will be on the table could be topics like China's purchases of Russian and Iranian oil, Guo Jiakun, spokesperson from China's Foreign Ministry, said on Wednesday that on economic and trade issues, China's position has always been consistent and clear.

"We hope that the US will work with China to implement the important consensus reached during the phone call between the two heads of state, leverage the role of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism, and, on the basis of equality, respect, and mutual benefit, enhance consensus, reduce misunderstandings, and strengthen cooperation in a bid to promote the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-US relations through dialogue and communication," Guo said, adding that for specific issues, please consult the relevant Chinese authorities.
