Chinese premier says Chinese economy capable of withstanding any external Protectionism harms interests of all parties: Chinese FM on US threat of high tariffs

In response to media inquiries about US President Donald Trump's recent move to send letters threatening major trading partners with high tariffs, though he postponed the tariff measures to August 1, and about the latest progress in China-US trade negotiations, Mao Ning, spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular press conference on Tuesday that China's position on tariffs remains consistent and clear.
"There are no winners in trade or tariff wars, and protectionism harms the interests of all parties," Mao said, while referring the question about China-US trade talks to competent authorities.
