Commenting on US President Donald Trump's announcement saying Washington will start sending letters to countries specifying what tariff rates they will face on imports to the US, Mao Ning, spokesperson from China's Foreign Ministry, said on Friday that for specific issues, "we suggest you consult the relevant Chinese authorities."
Mao added that China hopes that the US will meet China halfway to take concrete actions to uphold and implement the important consensus reached during the phone call between the heads of state of the two countries, jointly promoting the healthy, stable, and sustainable development of China-US economic and trade relations.
