Any attempt to discredit China's path and system dooms to failure, says Chinese FM responding to a US politician's remarks

Remarks by certain US politicians are riddled with ideological bias and Cold War zero-sum mentality, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on Friday.
Lin was asked for comment on the remarks by a US politician regarding Chinese students in the US.
Any attempt to smear or attack the Communist Party of China (CPC), discredit China's path and system, or drive a wedge between the CPC and the Chinese people is pure wishful thinking and a serious overestimation of one's abilities. It will be firmly opposed by more than 1.4 billion Chinese people and is destined to fail, Lin said.
