In response to media reports that Japan recently issued a "safety advisory," exaggerating concerns over public security in China and urging Japanese schools to thoroughly assess safety information before deciding whether to organize school trips to China, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday that the so-called advisory maliciously hypes up alleged safety risks in China with clear political manipulation.

"I don't know on what basis the Japanese side issued this 'safety advisory.' China is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposes this move, and has lodged solemn representations with the Japanese side," Guo said.

The spokesperson emphasized that China is an open, inclusive and safe country.

"We welcome people from all countries, including Japan, to visit, study, do business and live in China. We will continue to take effective measures to equally protect the safety of Chinese nationals and foreigners in China. We urge the Japanese side to immediately correct its wrongful practice and create a positive atmosphere for people-to-people exchanges between China and Japan," Guo said.
