In response to a question regarding recent wide attention and heated discussion internationally over DeepSeek's open-source large model due to its superb performance and lower training costs compared to similar products, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun on Monday said China is actively promoting inclusive development of artificial intelligence (AI), helping developing countries strengthen their capacity building, advocating open-source AI technology to promote the accessibility of AI services and achieve the shared benefits of intelligence among countries.
Guo said that breakthroughs in new AI technologies, the emergence of new business models, and the rapid expansion of new applications have become important driving forces for a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation.
China actively embraces intelligent transformation, vigorously promotes the innovative development of AI, emphasizes AI safety, and supports and encourages enterprises to innovate independently, making positive contributions to the global development of AI, Guo said.
At the same time, we oppose drawing ideological lines, overstretching concept of national security, and the politicizing economic and technology issues, adding that China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in AI with all parties, Guo said.
China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in AI with all parties, adhering to the principle of mutual consultation for mutual benefit, and working together to create an open, inclusive, mutually beneficial and win-win development environment, pursuing deep-seek jointly in the vast realm of AI, Guo said.
Guo's remarks came as the global Artificial Intelligence Action Summit kicked off in Paris on Monday.
