Taipei, April 11 (CNA) Chinese citizens woke up Wednesday to find that China's ubiquitous firewall had once again blocked all searches related to Bo Xilai.

Bo, a high-profile former Chongqing leader who was widely seen as destined for one of China's top leadership jobs before he was sidelined, was stripped of all his remaining party posts Tuesday evening by the Chinese Communist Party.

His wife was arrested on suspicion of homicide relating to the death of Neil Heywood, a British businessman.

Bo was removed from all party posts because of "serious violations of party discipline," according to the state-run Xinhua News Agency.

From March 15-April 3, China blocked all Internet searches related to Bo and has now reinstated the ban.

Searches on China's microblogging platform Sina Weibo on "Bo Xilai," his wife "Bo Gu Kailai," or son "Bo Guagua" all returned the following message Wednesday: "Search results cannot be shown due to regulations."

Some netizens then tried to use a code name "BCL" for Bo to continue their online discussions, but the tactic was soon spotted and the posts were permanently deleted.

Bo was removed as the Communist Party of China party chief in the southwestern Chinese municipality in early March. His removal was linked to the actions of his deputy and former police chief of the city, Wang Lijun, who reportedly attempted to seek political asylum at the U.S. Consulate in Chengdu in early February.
