China Attaches Great Importance to Friendly Relations with DPRK: Chinese Defense Minister
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- Colonel General Liang Guanglie, state councilor and minister of National Defense of China, met and had a talk with a delegation of logistics officials of the Korean People's Army led by Colonel General Jon Chang Bok at the August 1 Building in Beijing on August 26.
The minister recalled with deep emotion that when he visited the DPRK, General Secretary Kim Jong Il received his delegation though he was hard pressed for time.
The traditional Sino-DPRK friendship provided by President Kim Il Sung together with the leaders of the elder generation of China including Chairman Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai is developing more favorably under the deep care of the top leaders of the two countries, he noted, adding Kim Jong Il recently visited China several times.
China is attaching great importance to the friendly relations between the two countries, he stressed.
He hoped that the friendly relations between the two peoples and the two armies would be put onto a new higher stage and cooperation increase in various fields in the future, too.
