Top 10 news events in national defense industry

Yesterday, the TOP 10 news events in China's science, technology and industry for national defense were unveiled and the first manned space flight of Shenzhou V ranked No.1.
The others include: the first jointly developed commercial-purpose heavy- water nuclear reactor power plant in China-the third phase of the Qinshan Nuclear Power Station has been completed and put into full-capacity operation 112 days ahead of schedule; the successful maiden flights of the newly developed fighter plane Xiaolong (FC-1) and the advanced training plane Shanying (mountain eagle); China Aviation Science, Technology and Industry Company Limited successfully completed stock system reconstruction and listed in Hong Kong; the largest shipyard of its kind in the world-the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC)has formally started construction of its Changxing Shipbuilding Base in Shanghai; the solid-fuel launch vehicle Pioneer I has succeeded in its test flight; the first batch of trucks produced by Norinco-Benz Heavy-Duty Truck CO. Ltd¡¡was put into service in the UN peacekeeping forces; the first automobile of the joint-venture between Chang'an Automobile Corp and Ford Motor Company of the U.S. has come off the production line; the employment rate of the 7 higher learning institutions affiliated to the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense ranked top in the country; the two largest shipbuilding groups---China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) have created a new records in production and operation and their competitiveness in the international market has witnessed¡¡remarkable progress.
