News release
November 19, 2025 - Ottawa, ON - National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces
Under Canadian leadership as the framework nation, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Multinational Brigade Latvia (MNB-LVA) conducted Exercise RESOLUTE WARRIOR 25 from November 1 to 10, 2025, across central and eastern Latvia.
Exercise RESOLUTE WARRIOR 25 marked MNB-LVA's largest deployment beyond Ādaži military base, demonstrating the ability to project combat power, maintain command and control, and sustain operations in urban and rural environments.
MNB-LVA includes personnel from over one-third of NATO member states. In 2024, Exercise RESOLUTE WARRIOR focused on integrating the capabilities of the multinational brigade. This year's iteration focused on the multinational brigade's combat readiness and followed the Canadian battlegroup's validation training in February and September. Exercise RESOLUTE WARRIOR reflects Canada's enduring commitment to NATO's collective defence and comes amid milestone Canadian investments in infrastructure and capabilities in Latvia, reinforcing security and stability on NATO's eastern flank.
Canada's leadership of MNB-LVA is complemented by Government of Canada investments, including the October 31 groundbreaking of a new 2nd Line Maintenance Facility at Ādaži military base, the largest Canadian infrastructure project abroad in decades. Backed by a $58 million investment, this 17,000 square metre hub will support advanced repairs for NATO armoured vehicles, enhancing NATO's readiness and mobility across Latvia. This investment comes as part of Canada's $230 million in commitments, coordinated under the Canadian Armed Forces' (CAF) Operation REASSURANCE, to bolster NATO's eastern flank.
Canada's historic investment into NATO's defence and deterrence, through Operation REASSURANCE and MNB-LVA, is part of the largest reinforcement of Alliance collective deterrence and defence in a generation and highlights our commitment to defend NATO, its territory, and its people.
