Secure Mobile Anti-Jam Reliable Tactical-Terminal (SMART-T) (U)
(U) The SMART-T system provides tactical users with secure, survivable, anti-jam, low probability of intercept and detection satellite communications in a HMMWV configuration. The program supports advancing forces as they move beyond the line-of-sight capability of Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE) and can use Milstar and commercial satellite communications links.

(U) The AN/TSC-154 Secure Mobile Anti-Jam Reliable Tactical Terminal (SMART-T) is a joint, mobile, multi-channel terminal that provides range extension for the Army Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE) between selected Node Centers (NC), Large Extension Nodes (LEN), Small Extension Nodes (SEN) and Remote Radio Access Units (RAU), to support Echelons Corps and Below (ECB) as well as special contingency operations; and for communications with other service Milstar terminals. SMART-T will be the only terminal available to utilize the Milstar II MDR payload upon launch in early FY99. SMART-T can be operated remotely and will support up to four LDR and twelve MDR ports.
(U) The total Joint requirement for SMART-T is 313 terminals. 209 Army terminals will be procured from FY96-01. Of the remaining 104 terminals, the Marine Corps will procure 25 terminals, the Air Force will procure 73 terminals, and Defense Agencies will procure 6 terminals. The SMART-T program does not replace another, however, it operationally displaces the AN/TSC-85s and 93s (Ground Mobile Forces (GMF) SHF terminals) at ECB. The GMF displaced terminals move to support Echelons Above Corps (EAC).
-Highly Mobile - Terminal is fully integrated on a single HMMWV
