2nd Space Launch Squadron - Mission Support Flight
The mission of the Mission Support Flight, 2nd Space Launch Squadron, is to provide infrastructure, engineering, safety, security, training, and environmental support to all aspects of the space launch mission adhered to for mission assurance.
Facilities:
- Observe facility operations;
- Maintain infrastructure at 98 facilities;
- Manage launch base support contract;
- Facility Inspections.
Safety/Environmental:
- Oversee permits to operate;
- Coordinate water treatment;
- Ensure compliance with Launch Complex Safety Plan;
- Report and document mishaps;
- Regular walkdowns.
Squadron Coordination Center:
- Control hazardous operations;
- Emergency Response;
- Schedule Resolution;
- Pad Reentry Team.
Engineering:
- On-console for major tests and launch;
- Data/procedure reviews;
- Anomaly resolution;
- Project Management.
Training Management:
- Manage maintenance and ancillary training program;
- Reviews lesson plans;
- Conducts trainer observations;
- Regular Inspections.
