• China's Hainan reports over 6,700 confirmed COVID cases in August People's Daily 21 Aug 2022 -- South China's Hainan Province registered 6,704 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 9,577 local asymptomatic ones between Aug. 1 and 19, local authorities said at a press briefing Saturday.
• Chinese mainland reports 553 new local confirmed COVID-19 cases People's Daily 21 Aug 2022 -- The Chinese mainland on Saturday reported 553 locally-transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, of which 440 were in Hainan Province, the National Health Commission said Sunday.
• More than 20 Chinese universities postpone new semester to stop COVID-19 Global Times 21 Aug 2022 -- More than 20 colleges and universities across China have moved to postpone the starting dates of the new semester, in a move that public health experts say is necessary to stop the spread of the COVID-19, as many places across the country are combating sporadic outbreaks.

• India's Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 209.67 Cr India PIB 21 Aug 2022 -- India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 209.67 Cr (2,09,67,06,895) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 2,79,10,768 sessions.
• COVID - 19 Vaccination Update - Day 583 India PIB 21 Aug 2022 -- India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 209.98 Crore (2,09,98,35,210) today. More than 30 lakh (30,03,269) Vaccine Doses have been administered till 7 pm today. The daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports for the day by late tonight.
• Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Availability in States/UTs India PIB 21 Aug 2022 -- The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country. The nationwide COVID 19 vaccination started on 16th January 2021. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st June 2021. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.

• Taiwan reports 22,397 new COVID-19 cases, 26 deaths CNA 21 Aug 2022 -- Taiwan on Sunday reported 22,397 new cases of COVID-19 and 26 deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
