• Hong Kong to distribute 295,000 RAT kits following sewage COVID-19 detection People's Daily 20 Jul 2022 -- The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said Tuesday that it will distribute around 295,000 sets of COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RAT) kits as part of a follow-up on the recent detection of the COVID-19 virus in sewage samples.

• WHO: COVID Cases Have Tripled Across Europe as Hospitalizations Double Sputnik 20 Jul 2022 -- Nearly eight in 10 Americans believe the world will not be rid of COVID-19 in our lifetime, according to the latest results of an Axios/Ipsos Coronavirus Index survey. The poll also showed that Americans' top concern related to COVID-19 had to do with spreading the contagious disease to individuals at a higher risk of serious illness.
• WHO warns challenging autumn, winter amid escalating COVID-19 cases in Europe People's Daily 20 Jul 2022 -- The World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe predicted on Tuesday a "challenging autumn and winter" amid rapidly escalating COVID-19 cases in the region.

India

• India's Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 200.61 Cr India PIB 20 Jul 2022 -- India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 200.61 Cr (2,00,61,24,684) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 2,64,58,875 sessions.
• COVID - 19 Vaccination Update - Day 551 India PIB 20 Jul 2022 -- India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 200.89 Crore (2,00,89,18,108) today. More than 26 lakh (26,59,951) Vaccine Doses have been administered till 7 pm today. The daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports for the day by late tonight.
• Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Availability in States/UTs India PIB 20 Jul 2022 -- The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country. The nationwide COVID 19 vaccination started on 16th January 2021. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st June 2021. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.

These States are either reporting a surge in new daily COVID cases or a rise in positivity. The public health measures for surveillance, containment and management of COVID19 were also reviewed. • COVID-19 kills 32 more Iranians in past 24 hours IRNA 20 Jul 2022 -- The number of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran increased to 141,564 with 32 more Iranians killed by the deadly disease over the past 24 hours, Iran's Health Ministry announced on Wednesday.

Taiwan

• Taiwan reports 27,196 new COVID-19 cases, 57 deaths CNA 20 Jul 2022 -- Taiwan reported 27,196 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, all but 253 of which were domestic infections, and 57 deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
• Taiwan expands second booster eligibility to people aged 50 and older CNA 20 Jul 2022 -- Starting July 22, people aged 50 to 64 will be eligible to receive a second booster COVID-19 vaccine dose, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said Wednesday.

North Korea

• Epidemic Spread and Treatment Results in DPRK KCNA 20 Jul 2022 -- According to information of the state emergency anti-epidemic headquarters, more than 250 fever cases, with over 350 recoveries, were reported from 18:00 of July 18 to 18:00 of July 19 throughout the country.
