1 - The HMCS Charlottetown, ESPS Méndez Núñez, and MM Etna were assigned to Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG1), but became part of the Operation Unified Protector Combined Task Group. HMCS Charlottetown and MM Etna remained assigned to SNMG1 as well.
2 - The HS Limnos and TCG Gemlik were assigned to Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2), but became part of the Operation Unified Protector Combined Task Group. It was initially presumed that the other Turkish frigate assigned to SNMG2, TCG Giresun, would also become part of the CTG, but instead it continued on with SNMG2's mission in the Gulf of Aden.
3 - A submarine was originally reported to be part of the Italian contribution, but was not subsequently reported to be among the deployed naval forces.
4 - The Turkish submarine was initially reported to have been TCG Yildiray, but later turned out to be TCG Preveze.
5 - The BNS Narcis, HNLMS Haarlem, and HMS Brocklesby were assigned to Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 1 (SNMCMG1), but became part of the Operation Unified Protector Combined Task Group.
