Venezuela Air Force - Order of Battle

Just as the Army has experienced a major re-shuffling of the chain of command, to enhance loyalty and discourage the formation of cliques, in recent years the Air Force has seen signiciant shits in Order of Battle, with the number of flying squadrons growing by about 50%, from 11 squadrons to 17 squadrons. The older squadrons are depicted with shoulder patches, while the newer squadrons have distinctive unit insignia crests.

This training group is born of the need to have a unit of its own for the training of helicopter pilots of the Military Aviation, that is why it was born by resolution of Official Gazette No. 40,408 of May 19, 2014, thus forming the Center for Aerial Training, together with Air Groups N ° 7,14 and 18. In this way, the training of future helicopter pilots is strengthened with this unit, where pilots of the Army, Navy and National Guard components are also trained.

This group is born with the need to perform Special Air-Ground Operations, such as: search and rescue in combat (CSAR), direct action, designation of targets on the ground, terminal guidance in close air support, among others, in the fulfillment of the missions emanated of the General Command of the Bolivarian Military Aviation and the highest planning body of the operations of joint, combined and specific operations such as the Strategic Operational Command. This distinguished Elite Unit was created in 2016 and is now an integral part of the Special Action Force (FAES).
