Wing 46
The Royal Thai Air Force has played an important role in the Royal Rainmaking Project since 1972 by providing aircraft to support the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives' rainmaking projects. A Royal Rainmaking Operation Flying Unit was established consisting of various types of aircraft such as C-47, C-123K, AU-23 and Nomad. On the auspicious occasion of the Fiftieth Anniversary Celebrations (Golden Jubilee) of His Mafesty's Accession to the Throne, the Air Force has been developing these aircraft for higher capability in rainmaking in order to fulfill the Royal Project and as a tribute to His Majesty- "The Great Developer King of the Thai Nation".
