USS Fort Marion (LSD-22) was sold to the Republic of China, 15 April 1977, renamed ROCS Chen Hai (LSD-192). The ship was decommissioned by the Republic of China Navy in May 1999. Final Disposition, sunk as an artificial reef, 9 December 2000. Chen Hai (LSD-192) was originlly built for the US Navy as a Casa Grande-class dock landing ship. She was named for the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, Florida, which was named Fort Marion from 1921 till 1942.

The Casa-Grande class dock-landing ship, USS Fort Marion (LSD-22), was commissioned on January 29, 1946, at Gulf Shipbuilding Corporation, Chicksaw, Alabama. Serving on the west coast at the outbreak of the Korean War, she arrived off Korea in August 1950 and took part in the Inchon Invasion and the Wonsan Landing that fall. For the duration of the war, Fort Marion transported American troops to and from Japan, helped British Commandos in special operations, and assisted mine squadrons in Wonsan Harbor. Following an extensive overhaul in 1953, she remained in the western Pacific and served during the Vietnam War, participating in numerous Vietnamese Counteroffensives. Fort Marion was decommissioned on February 13, 1970, sold to the Republic of China in April 1977, and served as ROCS Chen Hai (LSD-192) until May 1999. In the late 1990s, the Taiwan Navy replaced an existing old Zhongzheng (LSD-191) and Zhenhai (LSD-192) dock landing ship (the latter decommissioned in 1999) to lease an Anchorage to the United States.

The ship served in the navy for 22 years. After fifteen captains, it carried out the outer island transportation and participated in various exercises for more than 300 times.The establishment of the army and the preparation of the war made a lot of contributions. On December 9, 2001, it was placed in the reef area of ??Nanfu Village, Xiaolanqiu, Pingtung County, with a water depth of 35M. The center position is latitude and longitude N2219.05, E12021.25 (WGS-84), and it is located at about 1 mile south of Nanfu Village in Ryukyu Township. The bottom of the seabed is mainly a coral reef plate, and some sand is interspersed among them. Located in the outer sea of ??the south side of Xiaoziqihaizikou, the average depth of the dive site is about 25m , and the current is very chaotic and has a strong current.
