NOTE: Available open sources are in rather profound disagreement concerning the identity of the units of this class, and provide wildly variant correlations between number, name and former US Navy hull. The information provided here for the current Wu Chin III sub-class is probably reasonably accurate, but the information for the retired ships almost entirely speculative. While the total number of vessels is correct, and the ROC Navy names are for the most part generally correct, the ROC hull numbers and correlation with US Navy hulls is evidently defective, since there is considerable duplication between the relatively well attested Wu Chin III units and the units of the other sub-classes. No attempt is made here to resolve these discrepancies.
