Joint-Stock Company "Saturn-Gas Turbines" is subsidiary company of "NPO Saturn". It is situated on the basis of the former "Volzhsky Machine-Building Plant" JSC, Rybinsk. In June 2000, the Rybinskiye Motory annual shareholders' meeting replaced the company's management. Veniamin Mezhibovsky, the former director of Volzhsky Machine-building plant, became Rybinskiye Motory's executive director. Rosaviakosmos Management Chief Yury Dmitriyev became the state's representative on the Rybinskiye Motory board of directors. Joint stock company "Saturn - gas turbines" - the daughterly company OF [NPO] "Saturn", was created in November 2006. The company is an integrator and complex supplier of highly effective ground-based power machinery equipment for the needs of joint stock company "Gazprom".

Volzhsky Machine-Building Plant is not the Volzhsky Pipe Plant (town of Volzhsky, Volgograd region), which is Russia's largest producer of pipes. Volzhsky (also spelled Volzhski) is the second largest city of Volgograd oblast of Russia, important industrial center of the region. The city is located on the left bank of Akhtuba River, about 20 km northeast of Volgograd city central part. Volzhsky has the population of about 306,000 (2009) on the land area of 150 sq. km. Volzhsky is a large industrial center of the Lower Volga area. Main industries are as follows: chemical; ferrous metallurgy; power engineering; machine-building and food industry.

Volzhsky Machine-Building Plant is one of the machine building, metallurgical and pipe plants manufacturing equipment for Gazprom's needs. The Russian machine building sector currently faces the challenge of turning out high-tech gas industry equipment. Moreover, the output quality should fit with the highest standards and allow Russian firms to win competitive contracts and supply their products both to Gazprom and abroad. It is our machine builders that are primarily responsible for meeting this multifaceted challenge.

For small power engineering is mastered the production of gas-turbine power facilities on the base of the turbines with a power of 2, 5, 6 and 8[MVt]. The total power of gas-turbine power stations can reach 80[MVt]. Power facilities work in simple, steam-gas "[PGU]" and central heating "[GTES]" cycles. Total efficiency during the production of thermal and electrical energy reaches 85%. The prime cost of the manufactured energy is 2-3 times cheaper than the price of the traditional suppliers of heat- and the electric power. Data of proposal are now claimed in the market for the petroleum-extracting and petroleum refining industry, by energy-consuming industrial enterprises, and also on the market ZhKKh with the large seasonal consumption of thermal energy.

Being the remote power supplies of heat- and of electric power, the contemporary power plants "Saturn", integrated into the electrical and thermal distribution networks, make it possible to decrease the dependence ZhKKh on the influence of energy-supplier - monopolist, to increase the quality of the exerted services, and to also decrease expenditures for the supply of the district and urban housing and utilities enterprises of heat- and by electric power.
