Ruselectronics integrates the electronics sector ventures focused on designing and producing electronic materials, equipment, semiconductor products and microwave technologies. Sukhoi, Phazatron-NIIR and Almaz-Antey experimental design bureaus are the largest customers of Ruselectronics. Ruselectronics produces approximately 50% to 80% of all Russian electronic components and ensures that Russian strategic enterprises are not dependent on foreign suppliers.

The Holding company was established in the beginning of 2009 on the basis of the holding that was created in 1997. At the end of 2012 the Supervisory Board of the Corporation decided to integrate Sirius and Orion groups of companies into the Ruselectronics Holding. State Corporation Russian Technologies owns 100% of the shares.

Rostec leads the process of consolidation of Russian research centres working in the area of innovative electronics and nano-technology. Electronic sector is one of the most attractive sectors for investment over the next 15 years. The holding plans to form clusters in regional industry, science and education associations in Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Saratov and Zelenograd in line with the large-scale state electronics sector modernization program.

Multifunctional AWACS aviation complexes are designed to detect, track and determine the nationality of air and large sea targets, issue information about them to command posts, target fighters and front-line aviation aircraft. Ruselectronics enterprises are working on the production of a modernized AWACS aircraft A-50U and a promising complex of radar patrol and guidance A-100.

In autumn, 2012 the holding completed the first stage of creating an R&D center Pulsar that would use the talent and facilities of Russian Science Academy, Russian Universities and affiliated research, development and production companies. Pulsar modernized some production facilities and founded innovative technologies implementation centre. It also reached a cooperation agreement with National Nuclear Research University MEPHI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute). This cluster will comprise 5 companies: the Pulsar state plant, Pulsar research and production enterprise, Optron, SDC ‘MELZ’ and Central Design Bureau of Special Radiomaterials.

The 130-110 nm chip producing plant construction was finalized in 2013. Istok, a research and production enterprise, has designed the first Russian microwave production line with capacity of 1 million items per year.

In November 2009 Ruselectronics (Rostec) and French Alcatel-Lucent RT (Alcatel-Lucent) entered into a joint venture agreement. The JV was created for development and production of high-tech telecommunication equipment and its promotion in Russian and CIS markets. In 2012 the parties signed long-term collaboration memorandum on research, development and implementation of LTE technologies. According to the memorandum, under Alcatel-Lucent management a new integrated R&D centre will be created in Moscow using Pulsar facilities as a base.
