Mi-52 Light Helicopter
In 1990, MVZ im. M.L.Mil, under the management of chief designer N.A.Nazarov's deputy, began the design of promising light multipurpose helicopter Mi-52. In their work the milevtsy maximally considered the experience of creation Mi-34. Two versions were studied: with one rotary- piston motor with a power of 270 hp (Mi-1) and with two analogous engines, power of 240 hp each (Mi-2). In the first case the helicopter with a takeoff mass of 1200 kgf on the project was capable to transport four passengers either 350 kgf of payload, and in the second - five passengers or 500 kgf of load. The calculated maximum speed of flight was respectively 200 and 210 km/h, and the static ceiling - 1500 m and 1800 m. helicopter was intended for the administrative purposes, the transportation of loads and passengers, instruction of pilots, fulfillment of air patrolling, ambulance and relief operations. Special attention with the design was paid to a noise reduction and vibrations in the cab, to the decrease of the fuel consumption, to simplification in the maintenance and to guarantee of a possibility of no-airport basing. Propeller blades were intended to carry out by those folding, and chassis - either wheel or skid or float.
