Lytkarinsky Machine-Building Plant [MMZ] is a subsidiary of OAO NPO Saturn, located in the town of Lytkarino. The main activity of the company is production, assembly and testing of aircraft gas turbine engines and gas turbines for pumping gas. Products include aircraft engines and components, turbo-reactive gas turbine engines for jet aircraft, and installations gas turbine compressors.
Lytkarino is situated in Leninskiy rayon, Moscovskaya Oblast, Russia, its geographical coordinates are 55° 34' 53" North, 37° 54' 6" East. The town of Turaevo is part of Lytkarino and contains experimental units of Moscow research institutes: OJSC Soyuz Turaevo Machine Design Bureau [space engines], Trial Center on the Test and Operational Development of the Air Installation, Research Institute of Devices, and the Lytkarino Factory of Optical Glass.
Order SM USSR ? 127-68 of 19 January 1955 established a branch of the MAP Federal Plant Number 165 in the village Turaevo the Moscow region with a view to expanding the test of aviation turbojets [TRD]. Construction had already been intensively and in January 1958 the first test of the engine was conducted. During the 50-year period IPPs mastered manufacturing sites, general assembly and testing of several generations of aircraft TBG developed by EDO under the leadership of General Designer AM Lyulki and grew up in a multi-industrial enterprise. The engines installed on airplanes P. O. Sukhoi, SV Ilyushin, AN Tupolev, AI Mikoyan, SA Lavochkin, A. Yakovlev, GM Beriev and other aircraft designers. In the years 1960-70 to IPPs were responsible sites, and was a general assembly of liquid rocket engine D57 at cryogenic components.
In the years 1970-80, together with research institutes CIAM, VIAM, NIAT, NIID, VILS, IES them. ?.?.??????, EOPaton, TSNIIKM «Prometheus» and others at the factory introduced advanced manufacturing processes and equipment for argon welding in a protective environment, electron-beam and ion plasma technology, vacuum heat treatment, punching explosion vibroshlifovanie blades, microprocessor technology with Tests engines, new methods of chemical analysis, aided design and much more. In the 1990s of a stand is stationary GTD a gaseous fuel, natural gas. The factory mastered the manufacture and testing of nozzles for TRD with deviating thrust vector. Currently Lytkarinsky engineering plant with part of OAO «NGO« SATURN »is directly involved in the creation of a new generation of aircraft engines. In March 2008 at NPO Saturn affiliate Lytkarino Machine-Building Plant (Lytkarino, Moscow region), the upgrading of the ?-1 and ?-3 test benches carried out in the framework of the plant preparation for the new generation engine design and testing, was successfully completed.
The NPO Saturn conceptual design of all measuring and computing complexes was taken as the basis while upgrading the Lytkarino test facility, in order to test gas-turbine engines to a unified procedure. The bench data acquisition and processing systems were subjected to upgrading. The equipment qualification performed in October 2007 confirmed the test bench measuring devices compliance with all normative documents both in accuracy and measuring procedures proper. Certificates for the test benches compliance with the requirements for carrying out tests of the new-generation aviation engines were obtained.
Information-computer complexes constituting flexible and reliable multi-channel measuring systems with open architecture and up-to-date clock system were built from the components that meet the world quality standards for measuring and computing systems. The information-computer complexes implement the technology of carrying out synchronous multi-channel measurements using precision special-purpose equipment produced by Symmetricom (USA). These information-computer complexes are characterized by a high concentration level of the measuring channels within an integrated local system. The hardware is distinguished by a high response rate, which enables the tested product parameters displaying and checking on a real-time basis. It is possible to execute the remote control of the 117? engine vectorable jet nozzle regulating device at the test bench. The software package developed by the Lytkarino plant specialists ensures integrity and fidelity of the received data, its fast mathematical treatment at the experimental rate, and enables the specialists to perform a broad-spectrum processing and analysis of the stored data after testing, as well.
Fundamental upgrading of the test benches made it possible to obtain principally new characteristics and parameters; and proficiency and qualification of NPO Saturn specialists made it possible to perform the defined task with competence and in time.
