La-190 Day Interceptor (1951)
Design of the aircraft "190" began in February 1949. The aim of the development was to create a high-speed high-altitude interceptor. Sredneplana scheme was chosen with a thin swept wing (55 degrees) and small elongation vysokoraspolozhennym diamond-shaped horizontal tail. The aircraft was equipped with a radar gun, "Kite" and the engine AL-5 construction AM Cradle with a thrust of 5000 kg.
Distinctive features of the design were fully powered control, tight-wing tank, which is located inside of the fuel, and cycling gear lever mechanism with the original extension and retraction, embarkation with an angle of attack up to 20-22 degrees. Armament - two guns H-37.
Factory tests took place from 14 June to 25 August 1951. Test airplane AG Kochetkov. Number 8 made flight tests were suspended because nedovedennosti engine. The plane showed a maximum speed of 1190 km / h, and Mach 1.08 in level flight. Further work on the aircraft "190" were not carried out because of the prolonged absence of another engine, and then due to congestion OKB new jobs.
