La-180 Training fighter (1949)
In connection with adopting a fighter La-15 in 1948 OKB Lavochkin given the task to build a double training option. Construction machines, received factory index "180", began in April 1949.
To accommodate the second cockpit was reduced fuel capacity and cannons replaced with a machine gun UBK-12.7. Factory tests began in September 1949 (pilots: AV Davydov Kosarev and AF).
In connection with the discontinuation of La-15 mass production of UTI La-15 is not started. There were built two aircraft, "180-1", "180-2." Both were transferred to the combat units, exploited the La-15 fighter.
