La-17 unmanned target drone (factory index "201") (1950)

The La-17 was an unmanned target drone, cantilever monoplane with a mid-wing. The target was developed based on the principle of maximum simplicity, low cost of manufacture and operation.

Ramjet engine RD-900 (OKB-670 MM Bondaryuk) running on gasoline, was installed under the fuselage. The middle part of the fuselage was a fuel tank, the bottom of which is the two ball cylinder of compressed air. Air is used to supply fuel. The bow (radome) radio equipment housed in the tail - the autopilot. I started with a target drone aircraft carrier Tu-4. After separation from the carrier it enters shallow planning in order to achieve required for ramjet speed. Prior to the stabilization target level flight carried autopilot, and then come into play radio system. All teams in the "201" were transferred to the command post of the flight control.

Statement displays the target in a given area and, if it is not brought down, it will automatically after the establishment of fuel and stop the engine passed in flight planning and use of radio commands are output in the landing area. Then, after reaching a height of about 500 meters target drone is automatically translated into landing angle of attack. When planting the engine often fail. To reuse this machine it had to be replaced.

By developing an aircraft target "201" OKB-301 started in June 1950. On the factory flight tests, he was released in May 1953. They continued intermittently until June 1954. Then, from June 21 to October 5 1954 passed the state comprehensive testing of the target aircraft "201" aircraft carrier Tu-4 and the special ground equipment. Aircraft target "201" was adopted. In mass production, he received the designation La-17. Mass production in the years 1956-60 in the factories #21 and #31. Total produced 847 units.

La 17K unmanned target drone (1965)

It is a modification of the La-17M under the turbojet engine P-11K-300. In the mid-1970s. on La 17mm, it was decided to replace the RD-9BKR on engines 11F2S P-300. By this time, all design support products such as La 17 Machine-Building Plant. SA Lavochkin was transferred to the production plant. However, does not seem possible to modernize the La 17mm on the serial Orenburg engineering plant due to lack of qualified design office there. This part of the work was transferred to KB Kazan State Sport Aviation (aka OKB "Falcon").

Specially modified engine index was P-11K-300. Terms of Reference of the Air Force for a new La-17 published May 14, 1975. Upon completion in 1978, the aircraft transferred to series production to the Orenburg Machine Works, where, under the designation La 17K it was built before mid-1993.

La 17MM unmanned target drone (factory index "202") (1962)

Design of a modernized version of a target drone La-17M began in late 1961. February 1, 1963 began the factory flight tests, "202", completed on 24 April of the same year with positive results. From October 1 to December 30, 1963 held a joint test. In 1964, under the designation La 17mm target drone "202" was put into production at the Orenburg plant engineering.

Compared with the La-La-17M aircraft 17mm had even wider range of heights combat use, (it has increased since 3000: 16000 m to 580..17500 m), long duration flight on the air supply (up to 100 minutes instead of 60), most Range support ground radar type P-30 (up to 400..450 km instead of 150-180 km). RD-9BK was replaced by RD-9BKR equipped with a dynamic pressure limiter "OS-2" for the flight at an altitude of 500: 3000 m.

La 17R tactical recon drone (factory index "204") (1960)

The aircraft is designed based on the aircraft target La 17M. Work on the Machine-Building Plant. SA Lavochkin La-modification 17M in aircraft photo-recon aircraft began in late 1960. On the aircraft were set new autopilot and radio equipment. Undergone significant repackaging front part of the fuselage, which will house photographic equipment.

In November 1961, aircraft photo-recon aircraft "204" came to the joint flight tests of the first phase, which ended in July 1962. According to the materials of the ninth launches were determined performance characteristics of the aircraft-fotorazvedchika. In December 1962 the second phase of the joint flight tests presented ten cars "204", modified on the recommendations of the first phase. We were made 11 launches aircraft fotorazvedchik. In July 1963, tests were successfully completed.

Upon completion of all the works in 1964 photo-recon aircraft "204" was adopted and received the designation La 17R. He became the country's first army tactical unmanned photo-recon aircraft. Production of the "204" established at the factory number 475 in Smolensk. In 1965, he went on trial modernized version of "204M" - La 17RM. Then there was created a unified drone La 17U. In an embodiment, the plane of the target he had cipher La 17UM, and in the embodiment fotorazvedchika - La 17UR.
