Baranovichi
Aircraft Repair Factory #407
53°40'N 23°50'E
A modernization package is being offered for Russia's aging Tupolev Tu-134 regional jets. The upgrade, which has been priced at around $3 million, is intended to extend the economic life of the 100-seat workhorse. The Tupolev design bureau is part of a seven-company consortium called ZOA Interavia that is behind the program. The other partners are Belarus' 407 Aircraft Repair Factory in Minsk and the airline Belavia; Russia's Komiavia, MotorSich and Progress; and the Ukraine's Kharkov State Aircraft Plant. The issue of repairing Russian MiG aircraft at the Baranovichi Aircraft Repair Factory west of Minsk has also been examined from a practical point of view.
Belarusian Air Force units stationed at Baranovichi include the 61st Fighter Regiment [Mig-25PD, Su-27] and the 953rd Bomber Regiment [Su-24M].
