Hornet / Wasp 4 x 4 Rapid Deployment Vehicle (RDV)

The Wasp is a light 4 x 4 Rapid Deployment Vehicle (RDV) for use by Airborne and Special Forces. In SA Army service this vehicle is designated Hornet. It is designed to be air-landed, parachuted, delivered by helicopter or to be deployed under its own power.

Wasp's compact design allows the transportation of four vehicles nose to tail in a C-130 aircraft whilst its light weight permits slinging under a helicopter with a 2.5 ton capacity. Wasp, through a palletised system, is readily adaptable to applications such as troop carrier, weapons platform and reconnaissance vehicle.
