22nd Infantry Regiment
The 22nd Infantry Regiment was originally activated as the 6th Regiment on February 6, 1946 at Kwangsan under the command of Lt. Kim Hong Jun. The 6th Regiment was initially assigned to the 3rd Brigade in December 1947. The unit however staged the Taegu Rebellion and was later inactivated, redesignated and reactivated as the 22nd Regiment. The 22nd Regiment was activated on April 15, 1949 at Taegu and was first commanded by Lt. Col. Oh Dok Jun. The unit was initially assigned to the 3rd Division when that unit was activated in May 12, 1949.
