530th Composite Tactical Wing
530th Composite Tactical Wing (Provisional)
530th Air Base Group

The mission of the 530th Air Base Wing is to manage, operate and maintain the base facilities and provide support services and security at Edwin Andrews Air Base. Specific duties include internal and external security, fire, crash and rescue services, aerodrome operations, command, control and communication systems operation, base morale and recreational activities, base repair and maintenance, rehabilitiation and relief operations, and base healthcare.

The Wing traces its lineage back to the activation of the 533rd Air Base Squadron on 17 October 1955 at Zamboanga Airport. Zamboanga Airport was subsequently renamed Edwin Andrews Air Base in 1966. On 11 August 1972, the 530th Air Base Group was activated using personnel from the 533rd Air Base Squadron.

On 8 January 1974 the unit was expanded and redesignated as the 530th Composite Tactical Wing (Provisional) pursuant to General Orders Number 309, Headquarters, Philippine Air Force. With the activation of the 3rd Air Division in April 1976, the unit was redesignated as the 530th Air Base Wing and placed under the command of the Division.

On 1 February 1999, the 3rd Air Division was inactivated. As a result the 530th Air Base Wing was redesignated as the 530th Composite Tactical Wing and assigned to the Tactical Operations Command. In February 2001 the 530th Composite Tactical Wing was inactivated pursuant to General Orders Number 32, Headquarters, Philippine Air Force, dated 31 January 2001. The units personnel and assets were reorganized in the 3rd Tactical Operations Wing.

In 2007 the 3rd Tactical Operations Wing was inactivated. On 31 August 2007 the 3rd Air Division was reactivated along with the 530th Air Base Wing, to which it was immediately assigned, pursuant to General Orders 308, Headquarters, Philippine Air Force, dated 31 August 2007.
