Islamic Armed Group of al-Qaida, Fallujah branch
The Islamic Armed Group of al-Qaida, Fallujah branch has claimed responsbility for the armed resistance against U.S. Forces in Iraq.
The group denies any role by Saddam Hussein in ongoing attacks on coalition forces and has claimed to be an Iraqi branch of al-Qaida. This is the first purported Iraqi group that has linked itself to Osama Bin Ladin's al-Qaida.
These statements were made in a four-minute video tape aired on the Dubai-based al-Arabiya satellite television station. In it, the United States was told to "leave Iraq's territories and to live up to their promises." The voice on the tape also promised more attacks that would aim to "break America's back."
