Palestinian Revolutionary Communist Party (PRCP)
The PRCP is comprised of Palestinian communists in Lebanon favouring armed struggle. It portrays itself as the dissident wing of the PCP, led by 'Arabi 'Awwad.
Arabi Awad is a former teacher of Arabic literature from the village of Salfit, near Nablus. He was Secretary of the JCP in the West Bank and active in establishing the PNF. Imprisoned for 11 years under Jordanian rule, he was deported in Dec 1973. He Went on to found in 1980 the Palestine Communist Organisation of Lebanon as a branch of the JCP, and when it collapsed in 1982, he formed the PRCP in Lebanon.
